The software portal allows farmers to manage income, expenses and advanced payrolls. But, to continue to meet farmers’ needs into the future, the legacy software needed significant updates.
PC Mars enlisted the help of Saltech Systems’ software development, web design, cloud services and brand design teams to facilitate their business’ online transformation. The results was PC Mars Cloud, a reimagined version of the original PC Mars software, a dedicated and customized cloud server, an updated logo and front-end web design to match modern trends.
The original PC Mars software was outdated and lacked the ability to meet modern farmers’ needs. The PC Mars for Windows offering was available only to farmers on the Windows operating system. PC Mars’ existing product did not have the flexibility to serve customers across multiple devices and operating systems. The original technology limited the ability for PC Mars to grow and continue to serve new customers in the modern era. With other farm accounting software solutions available to customers, this online transformation was key for PC Mars’ success as a company.
The Saltech Systems software development team took over full management of the PC Mars software. Saltech Systems developers worked closely with the PC Mars team to implement new features and update the codebase to serve modern customers’ needs.

PC Mars also worked with the Saltech Systems cloud services team to implement a key component of the organization’s online transformation. The existing PC Mars software was offered online to customers on the Windows operating system. For PC Mars to expand its presence to new customers on Mac and Linux operating systems, the program would need to undergo a large-scale re-write. Developers would need to overhaul the entire software infrastructure to reach Mac or Linux users.
Saltech Systems provided an alternative solution that solved the issue of expanding business to new operating systems while avoiding a costly large-scale transition. The solution was PC Mars Cloud, a cloud-based version of the PC Mars software that allowed users on any device or operating system to access the farm accounting software.
Saltech provided a dedicated cloud-based server for PC Mars Cloud customers to access. The process is seamless and easy-to-use and gives PC Mars the flexibility to reach more modern customers
To help PC Mars reach more customers with its updated technology, the Saltech Systems brand design and web design teams created a revamped logo and WordPress website to represent the organization online. The updated brand allowed PC Mars to enhance its relationship with new and potential customers with business cards, letterhead, and other branded assets.
The PC Mars website design project helped PC Mars provide more information to new and potential customers. The updated website included information regarding the PC Mars software and its features. How-to guides and tutorials provide existing customers the ability to use the software tool more effectively. The website also features the ability for potential customers to download a free trial version of the PC Mars software.
