Have you received a spam email?
In the past couple of months, we have seen a rise in the number spam emails claiming someone has filed a copyright lawsuit against the message recipient. These messages may contain malicious attachments, so if a user opens the attachment, malicious code may be installed onto the user’s system.
US- CERT encourages users to take the following preventative measures:
- Do not follow unsolicited web links or open unsolicited emails
- Maintain up to date antivirus software
- Use caution when visiting untrusted websites
